Bennet Logan is a writer, editor, and researcher whose work bridges world-class editorial rigor and authentic mountain culture. He currently manages editorial research at National Geographic, where recent projects include Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time, Ocean with David Attenborough, and an upcoming Everest film from Oscar-winning director Jimmy Chin.If his dad is to be believed, he was bartered at birth for a stained-glass window still hanging at Aspen Valley Hospital. Perhaps that explains his scrappiness. He’s called every corner of the U.S. home, doing everything from building terrain parks at Aspen/Snowmass to editing literary magazines in New York and managing operations for a music festival founded by snowboarders Danny Davis and Jack Mitrani. He’s published essays in The Snowboarder’s Journal and created historical visualizations for Lapham’s Quarterly. As a youngster, he traveled the country with his snowboard in tow, competing in halfpipe and slopestyle comps, and he still disappears into the mountains regularly, with recent climbing trips to the North Cascades and Cochise Stronghold, Arizona. He's a jack-of-all-trades, just as comfortable building a stage as he is researching the history of Pompeii. In a life rich with experience, three constants have never faltered: an unquenchable curiosity, a passion for storytelling, and a deep connection to the mountains.
